What is Reflexology?
It is the application of pressure onto particular points or reflex areas in the hands and feet that correspond to all the glands, organs and other parts of the body.
Thai Reflexology is a method of using the thumbs, hands, fingers and wooden sticks on these areas to release congestion or tension allowing the body to work at it’s peak efficiency. This is a holistic approach to stimulating the functions of the internal organs.
There are 7000 nerves connected to the feet and according to Chinese medicine, the sensory nerves of the internal organs are mainly in the feet. When the foot is touched or any part of the skin, sensory receptors then send messages to the brain that cause the release of chemicals and these chemicals produce a sense of relaxation and well-being that can then heal the pain.
